Recently, we’ve received several calls regarding the use of Matterport tours in MLS listings. As outlined in our MLS Rules and Policies, all virtual tours must be unbranded to be displayed in the MLS and distributed via IDX.
Homes.com now owns Matterport and offers a membership program where agents receive a Matterport tour as part of their subscription. According to Homes.com representatives, these tours remain the property of Homes.com and are intended for display on their site. These tours are branded, as they include listing agent and office information. Because they are owned by Homes.com, publishing them elsewhere may create copyright concerns.
As a result, Realcomp will no longer accept virtual tours that include the Homes.com domain in the URL field.
There are some Matterport tours that are acceptable for MLS and IDX. Agent or photographer generated Matterport tours are permitted, if they are unbranded and MLS compliant.
To ensure compliance, add the parameter: &mls=1 to the end of the tour link.
Example: https://mymatterport.com/show/?m=XXXXXXXXXX&mls=1
This is the preferred method to create an unbranded, MLS-compliant tour.
To enforce the inclusion of only unbranded tours, Realcomp has added an input rule that requires this additional parameter for Matterport tour links. If you try to save a Matterport virtual tour in one of the unbranded virtual tour fields, you will not be able to save your listing until this is corrected.
For your convenience, Realcomp has scanned our database of existing virtual tours and we have corrected all Matterport virtual tours to be unbranded.
