Committees
Early in 2010, Realcomp’s Board of Governors agreed to make important changes to Realcomp’s MLS User Committee structure in an effort to maximize the strengths, expertise, and diverse skill sets of Realcomp’s volunteer community and form specialized sub-committees for the following areas of service: 1) MLS Rules and Policy, 2) Technology, 3) Realcomp Online® and 4) MoveInMichigan.com. As such, these four (4) sub-committees take the place of a single User Committee and are now responsible for the following duties:
MLS Rules & Policy Committee
The MLS Rules & Policy Committee is responsible for adopting mandatory rules and changes put forth by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), reviewing and approving optional rules and changes, and judging fine waiver requests. This committee is comprised of brokers/agents/appraisers that actively list, sell, or appraise real estate and have worked in the business for at least three (3) years. This committee will meet twice a year—after the NAR mid-year and annual meetings, or as needed.
Tech Committee
The Tech Committee is charged with ‘keeping tabs’ on new technologies being used in the real estate industry and considering how these might be beneficial to Realcomp subscribers. This committee is comprised of brokers/agents/appraisers that actively list, sell, or appraise real estate, who have worked in the business for at least three (3) years and are tech-savvy. This committee will meet quarterly, or as needed.
Realcomp Online® User Group
The Realcomp Online® User Group is responsible for proposing and providing user input with regard to MLS system changes, providing user perspective in the specifications of MLS system changes, and providing user testing of MLS system changes prior to roll out. This committee is comprised of brokers/agents/appraisers that actively list, sell, or appraise real estate, that have worked in the business for at least three (3) years. This committee will meet quarterly, or as needed.
MoveInMichigan.com User Group
The MoveInMichigan.com User Group is charged with proposing and providing user input with regard to public search site changes, providing user perspective in the specifications of system changes, and providing user testing of system changes prior to roll out. This committee is comprised of brokers/agents/appraisers that actively list, sell, or appraise real estate, that have worked in the business for at least three (3) years. This committee will meet twice yearly, or as needed.
Most of the positions on the sub-committees have been filled by MLS User Committee volunteers. However, if you have a strong interest in being a part of any of the above, please let us know by expressing this to your Realcomp Shareholder Board/Association.
