Straight Talk - January 2006
I want to introduce you all to the 2006 Executive Committee for the Board of Governors. President – Richard Knezek, Century 21 Curran & Christie; Vice President – Douglas Hardy, Century 21 Today; Treasurer – Dan Mulvihill, RE/MAX All Stars; and Secretary – Darralyn Bowers, Bowers & Associates. Each year, the Members of the Board of Governors are charged with overseeing the business planning and financial matters of Realcomp II Ltd. We welcome this year’s Executive Committee along with all of the Members of the Board.
There have been many questions recently regarding the duties of the MLS/User Committee. This Committee is charged with reviewing suggestions for policy changes or system enhancements; reviewing new products and services that may be of benefit to the subscribers of Realcomp; and following up on complaints that are received and/or any alleged violation of the MLS Rules and Regulations. Currently, they are evaluating two potential replacements for the CMA Program. Upon completion of their review, they will be making a recommendation to the Board of Governors based on which product will best meet the needs of the subscribers of Realcomp. We are excited to be bringing you the “latest and greatest” in this technology. So, stay tuned for updates in the next few months.
How does one get on the MLS/User Committee? Each Shareholder Board/Association of Realcomp provides three representatives to the Committee – two agents that are actively selling or listing properties and one appraiser member. The Committee meets each month for approximately two (2) hours. Additionally, they will meet as necessary to review and discuss a new product that has been introduced. If you are interested in participating on the Committee, please contact your Board or Association to let them know!
An important part of the decision making process comes from all of you. We appreciate those who have completed surveys we have recently distributed. This helps the MLS/User Committee in making decisions on your behalf. So keep it up! We need to hear from you! This year we are looking at many exciting enhancements and improvements. We will be certain to keep you all informed through the many communication vehicles that we use. In the meantime, if you have any feedback or suggestions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Your input is critical to our success! I can be reached by e-mail email or by phone at 248.699.9120.
